About Me

Hi, I am Vanessa, yoga teacher since 2014 and founder of the Yoga Nook at the Fisherrow Centre.

I’ve been practicing yoga since my late teens and continue to find it endlessly fascinating. Yoga is a lifelong study and practice that is always changing and evolving — it never gets boring.

Over the past decade I’ve been teaching throughout Edinburgh, where I’ve been influenced by a range of styles and teachers. I’ve been particularly drawn to practices such as Mysore/Ashtanga working with Meadowlark & Ashtanga Yoga Edinburgh, Trauma-Informed yoga working with Edinburgh Community Yoga and Yin and Restorative with Nadine Watton.

My aim is to encourage people from all walks of life to experience yoga in a friendly, down-to-earth setting. I’m passionate about giving back to the community by creating more accessible entry points to yoga, helping reduce barriers such as cost and offering sessions through third sector organisations.

Before training as a yoga teacher, I studied Occupational Therapy and worked in community settings. This background continues to influence my teaching, giving me a strong passion for working alongside people and meeting them where they are.

I live in Musselburgh with my partner, daughter, dog and cats. When not at the Yoga Nook I love to be out in nature, eating delicious scran and hanging out with friends and fam.
